Iceland has some new buildings, but we stayed away from them.
This building is where President Reagan met with Gorvachev and it is said they negotiated the end of the cold war.
Since Iceland is VERY volcanic (you remember the volcano eruption that closed European airports for days) they use geothermal water to heat most of the buildings on the island. Here in Reykjavik they pump water via this little pump houses
up to the storage tanks, called the Pearl or Perlan, then the hot water goes down the hill into homes, etc.
