From the castle you can see across the English Channel. Calais, France is only 32 miles away. That is why this castle was so important.
Did you notice the sailboat?
After leaving the castle we decided to ride the bus to see some of the surrounding area.
We were hoping we could see the castles in Deal and Walmer, but this is the only view we got of the castles.
The English countryside is lovely. We even saw a windmill. Didn’t know there were windmills her in Britain.
Does anyone have any idea what this is? We can’t figure it out.
One thing we noticed, that we don’t see in the US, is that every time a passenger leaves the bus, they either say “thank you” to the driver. That included youngsters.
My guess on the strange structure you can't figure out what it is....It's obviously the landing pad for the Alien Motheship!! ROFLOL : <> OK...now for a more sensible idea. It might be a solar energy gathering station. Notice the flatness of the "panels" above, that are connected to the cement building underneath; guessing the building is where the batteries are stored. It may be a small community solar station. Who knows!!
